Job Title: Advanced Certified Riggers

Location: De Soto, Kansas

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $30–$33 per hour (based on experience)

Per Diem: $100 per day

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10-hour shifts

Saturday work may be available but is not guaranteed

Duration: This is 16-18 month long project.


Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced Riggers to join our team in De Soto, KS. This role involves rigging, signaling, and guiding structural steel and heavy materials during steel erection and pre-engineered metal building installation.

The ideal candidate will have advanced rigging knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to safely coordinate lifts with crane operators and field crews.


Responsibilities:

  • Inspect rigging equipment including slings, shackles, hooks, cables, and chains prior to use
  • Select proper rigging gear based on load weight, size, and lift requirements
  • Attach and secure loads to cranes and lifting devices using proper rigging techniques
  • Signal crane operators to safely lift, move, and position loads
  • Guide structural steel, beams, and heavy materials into place during lifts
  • Use tag lines to control and stabilize loads
  • Assemble rigging equipment such as pulleys, spreader bars, and hoisting systems
  • Assist with positioning and securing structural steel during installation
  • Maintain clear communication with crane operators and crew members
  • Follow all company safety standards and jobsite procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • NCCER Advanced Rigger Certification required
  • OSHA 10 Construction Industry certification required (current within last 5 years)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening

Experience Required With:

  • Structural steel rigging
  • Crane signaling and load control
  • Rigging hardware and lifting equipment
  • Pre-engineered metal building projects
  • Tag line usage and load stabilization

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of rigging methods and load calculations
  • Ability to read lift plans, blueprints, and jobsite layouts
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards for rigging and hoisting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Work Requirements & PPE:

  • Red shirts and/or red jackets/hoodies are required to be worn daily
  • All standard PPE is required at all times
  • Hard hat, safety harness, and lanyard will be providedEmployees are financially responsible for issued equipment

Per Diem Policy:

  • $100 per day per diem
  • Work Monday–Friday and receive per diem for all 7 days
  • Must work all scheduled weekday shifts to qualify for full per diem
