12 hour shifts.

We are seeking experienced Structural Steel Fitters to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience fitting and assembling structural steel components from blueprints and drawings and be comfortable working with welders and fabrication crews.

Responsibilities

• Fit and assemble structural steel beams, columns, braces, plates, and miscellaneous steel
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols
• Measure, lay out, align, and prepare steel components for welding
• Use levels, squares, tape measures, torches, grinders, and other hand and power tools
• Tack weld and secure components prior to final welding
• Make adjustments to ensure proper fit, alignment, and dimensions
• Work closely with welders and other members of the fabrication team
• Inspect completed fits for accuracy and quality
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
• Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements

Qualifications

• Previous structural steel fitting or fabrication experience
• Ability to read and understand structural drawings and blueprints
• Strong understanding of measurements, dimensions, and layout
• Experience using oxy-fuel torches, grinders, impact tools, and other fabrication equipment
• Ability to fit steel accurately and efficiently
• Welding experience is a plus
• Ability to pass a practical skills test
• OSHA 10 certification is a plus
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and able to visualize how individual steel components come together to form a completed structure. Candidates should be comfortable working independently while also being able to coordinate effectively with welders and other trades.
