Job Title: Safety Manager – Steel Erection

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Pay: $30–$35/hour + $120/day per diem

Schedule: 50 hours per week

Duration: 6+ months

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager for a long-term steel erection project in Fort Wayne, IN. This is a full-time role with 50-hour work weeks and per diem offered for qualified travelers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, specifically in steel erection or heavy structural work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee site safety for all steel erection activities
• Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analysis (JHAs)
• Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies
• Perform regular safety audits and inspections
• Investigate incidents and ensure proper reporting and corrective actions
• Work closely with site leadership to maintain a safety-first culture

Requirements:

• 3+ years of construction safety experience (steel erection experience strongly preferred)
• OSHA 30 certification required
• Ability to lead safety initiatives and gain crew buy-in
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Reliable transportation and ability to work 50 hours/week
