Steel Erection Superintendent

Location: Abilene, TX

Pay: $38–$40 per hour

Duration: 2-Year Project

We are seeking an experienced Steel Erection Superintendent to oversee field operations on a long-term steel erection project in Abilene, Texas. This position offers steady work for the duration of the project and competitive hourly pay.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all field activities related to steel erection
• Supervise crews, foremen, and crane operations
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and site safety requirements
• Plan and coordinate erection sequencing, crane picks, and manpower
• Review and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, and lift plans
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safety standards
• Coordinate with project management and other trades
• Track progress, productivity, and field issues

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience supervising steel erection work
• Strong understanding of structural steel erection, rigging, and crane operations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
• OSHA 30 preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to commit to the full 2-year project

Compensation:

• $38–$40 per hour, depending on experience
