Position Summary

The Traveling Millwright Supervisor will oversee and manage all aspects of mechanical field operations on assigned projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in the installation, relocation, or demolition of heavy industrial equipment. This position requires extensive travel to project sites throughout the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate crews on equipment setting, welding, piping, and demo operations
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
  • Oversee rigging and precise alignment of machinery and equipment
  • Monitor and enforce safety standards and company policies on-site
  • Communicate with project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors
  • Ensure job quality, productivity, and schedule compliance
  • Maintain and submit accurate reports, timecards, and daily logs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and propose practical solutions
  • Mentor and train millwrights, welders, and pipefitters in the field

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on millwright experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong background in equipment setting, welding (MIG/TIG/Stick), demo, and industrial piping systems
  • Proficient with rigging practices, hoisting equipment, and layout tools
  • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and job site safety standards
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary field crews on industrial sites
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work extended hours as needed
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • NCCER, AWS, or other relevant certifications a plus
